In 2006 United Doctors Hospital was awarded the accreditation certificate of the Makkah Region Quality Program (MRQP) now known as Central Board for Accreditation of Healthcare Institution (CBAHI). From then on, strict compliance on the Local Standards and the Ministry of Health (MOH) rules and regulations are implemented all throughout United Doctors Hospital.
In the first quarter of year 2009, the United Doctors Hospital Board decided to pursue with the International Accreditation and last quarter of the same year, consultation with Australian Council on Healthcare Standards International (ACHSI) was conducted.
ACHSI is one of the few international agencies certified by the International Society for Quality in Healthcare (ISQua) to undertake healthcare facility accreditation around the globe. With the completion of the ACSHI process, UDH has developed and implemented a firm system of patient care based on patient safety. It also helped in creating a culture of evidence-based approach to healthcare and data-driven decision-making.
On May 17, 18 & 19, 2010, the Organization Wide Survey (OWS) was conducted by the ACHSI Team which consists of five (5) surveyors namely Mr. Wayne Singh (Team Leader), Mrs. Marilyn Sneddon, Dr. Oussama Kayali, Mr. Timothy Gardner & Dr. Samy Sidky. These three days event marks one of the greatest achievement of UDH. Survey summation result showed a very high rank based on ACHSI ratings which highlight the big event.
